I think I'm going to go ahead and write a post on my main blog about where Gotham went wrong in its second season, because it definitely did in my opinion. The first mistake was killing off Fish Mooney at the end of season 1 (as they themselves realized and apparently brought her back).
Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) is ruthless, much more intelligent than people expect, brutal, and the most hardcore. I mean would you scoop out one of your own eyes just to spite someone? She has power, power that she accumulated herself. She started from a very low station and now she's high up in one of the city's most powerful mafia clans. She tolerates neither betrayal nor incompetence and is ambitious enough to try and take over. Her plan is brilliant and very nearly worked, too. Arrogance was her downfall, but even then she comes back with a force. Who're you calling "babe"?
